This is why I generally don’t hire kids right out of college. Most of my interviews reveal that they need reprogramming. We don’t have time for that. Meanwhile I hired a kid years ago right out of high school through one of our employees and he’s running one of my departments. I watched him for about six months and saw the determination in everything he did. I offered to pay for half of our trade school costs. He took it and he’s now a big part of our work family. If you don’t have to go to college don’t. Save your time and money. My folks make more than most college grads and are far happier.
